Claudia Kühne is a concert cellist with classical roots and plays as a soloist as well as in various chamber music ensembles.
After studying in Berlin at the University of the Arts in the class of Prof. Markus Nyikos and at the Zurich University of the Arts with Thomas Grossenbacher, she obtained a concert diploma in the class of Raphael Wallfisch and a teaching diploma in the class of Roel Dieltiens. She also received a lot of inspiration from master classes with Janos Starker, Truls Svane, Anner Bylsma and Alexander Rudin, among others.
In addition, she has been performing with the cello, but also the electric cello and loop in the theater, performance and dance sectors for several years and last year she shot the short film "The Lady Cellist - A Dance Sonata" in the Kühne / Baumgartner / Meyer Döring collective, in which she takes a journey through the history of the female cello as the protagonist and cellist.
The live performance with film will soon be touring Switzerland. She is also currently performing in a duo with the internationally renowned jazz singer Efrat Alony and in a crossover duo from classical to rock with the violinist Niklaus Vogel.
She also works as a music and cultural mediator on various generational projects with her association RaUmWege and is a music teacher in the Bern region. She lives with her family in Thun.
