Kirill Zvegintsov is a Ukrainian pianist and conductor who is internationally acclaimed for his performances.
He has lived in Switzerland since 2005 and has taken part in renowned festivals such as the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, the Davos Festival, the Bern Music Festival and the Music Summer on Lake Zurich. He has also won several prizes at important piano competitions, including those in Orléans, Toronto and Calgary, as well as the Bach Competition in Würzburg.
Zvegintsov's repertoire includes works from baroque to contemporary music. He focuses on unconventional programs and lesser-known works, but remains connected to his classical roots.
His performed works include Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, Beethoven's Diabelli Variations and Messiaen's Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant Jésus. His passion for contemporary music is also reflected in his recordings, including a live recording of Shostakovich's 24 Preludes and Fugues in 2012 and his latest CD, 'EAUX-FORTES', featuring works by Couperin, Debussy, Hugon and Lenot.
Zvegintsov has performed as a soloist with major orchestras such as the Basel Sinfonietta, the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Southwest German Philharmonic. He is a member of the Ensemble Phoenix Basel.
