career / background
Rafayel Ter-Sahakyan is a versatile musician with a broad repertoire from baroque to contemporary music.
As a founding member of the ensemble Duo Poetico, he plays together with soprano Gunta Smirnova and regularly appears at festivals in various European countries.
In addition to his main instrument, the modern violin, Rafayel has also studied baroque violin with Brian Dean and is active in various chamber music and orchestral formations on both the modern and baroque violin.
He completed his studies in music education at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and has extensive experience in teaching children and young people.
He currently teaches violin and viola at the Inter-Community School Zumikon.
